Farm Co Ltd is pleased to announce the acquisition of About Foods Ltd.
 About
Foods Ltd, based at Moor Monkton on the outskirts of York, specialises in
the manufacture of bespoke cooked meat components for the meal solution, convenience
and food service sectors. The acquisition will allow Holmesterne access to
the ready to eat food sector and add a further 11000 square feet of cooking
capacity to augment the facilities already available at the Leeming Bar site.
Holmesterne sees increasingly close co-operation between the Leeming Bar and
Moor Monkton sites as ideas and techniques are exchanged by the two.
As part of the acquisition
process Graham Smith will join Holmesterne Farm Co Ltd as the group NPD manager
with responsibility for all new product development across both companies.
Graham brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the previous positions
he has held in a variety of companies in the food industry. Nigel Upson will
continue to manage the Moor Monkton site and build upon the strong product
and customer base that is already established there, utilising his extensive
knowledge and experience.
